Because there are only 4 to 5 channels which are not available on New diamond pack but available for platinum

NGC people
Discovery science
Discovery turbo
Baby TV

Although FX, Baby TV deserves to come in diamond pack, but then, only 3 channels will be available in next pack.i.e. platinum
So, people will not go for platinum pack
Instead they will take ala carte of 3 channels which will cost less

As per my opinion, videocon d2h should discontinue platinum pack & should keep diamond pack price as 420 to max. 450 with all above 5 channels
