A Snapdeal employee was kidnapped in Ghaziabad while she was on her way home from work on Wednesday. Dipti Sarna, 23, is an IT professional and lives in Vaishali but works in Gurgaon.

The incident took place when she got off the Metro at Vaishali and took an auto as was her usual routine. She took the auto to the bus-stand in Ghaziabad from where her family members were to pick her up.

However, her parents heard her screaming at the driver for having taken a wrong turn while she was speaking to them over the phone in the auto. Soon after that her phone was turned off. Her family immediately informed the police, a police officer said.

Sarna was reportedly kidnapped near the Hindon bridge. The police have launched a search operation for her and have also registered an FIR a thte Sihani Gate police station.

A Snapdeal spokesperson was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "We are extremely disturbed with the reported abduction of our team member. Her security and safety is our topmost priority...The entire Snapdeal family is united in their support and prayer for her safe return."

It might be one of the many kidnapping happening there. Since police hasn't traced her yet, we might hear bad news in coming days.

Dipti Sarna, the 24-year-old Snapdeal employee who went missing on Wednesday, has returned home.

Her father Narendra Sarna confirmed on Friday morning that Dipti had returned home but said he was overwhelmed by emotions and hence unable to share further details.

“She is completely safe I can tell you that much,” said Mr. Sarna.

Mr. Sarna thanked the Uttar Pradesh Police, the media and Dipti’s employers for their support.

Sources said she was in Panipat but how she reached there is being probed.

I wish everything is alright with her but many a times families hide things to save themselves from bad names and embarrassment

She told that her kidnappers got scared because this might be their first time and hence she was fed and even a gun was handed over to her.
