Update D2H Added Dolby Digital for Star Cricket HD

It seems D2H has gone mad.
The original broadcast of Star Cricket Hd and every Sports HD is 'AAC Stereo Sound'.
Earlier Tata Sky has unnecessarily made DD sound on ESS HD channels, that's nothing but a unconverted version of original stereo sound and the DD sound is much worse than original stereo broadcast. Why are people so obsessed about roaming sounds which are not consistent with regards to the content being shown.
Thank God Airtel is not doing this so far!

The point is, as a customer we should be aware of what's good and bad. Just because it's Dolby Digital doesn't mean, it will be good for channels. What matters is...original broadcast of the channel with original bitrate and original sound codec !!


Just to add more....if one is really interested in watching everything in 5.1 DD sound; the same can be done by utilizing the Dolby Prologic mode in Home Theater's settings. And that will be better than the fake DD sound telecast by DTH, because that will be already compressed and DRC enabled; and moreover who knows if they made the upconversion approriately !!

I dont think D2H is converting Star cricket HDaudio to fake DD sound.it is only Tata sky strtergy.I think Star cricket HD it self started giving 5.1 sound in their channel.and as of now none of the sports HD channels giving 5.1 sound,this statement also wrong.Sony Six HD is proving 5.1 sound and I have seen IPL in DD sound.which is so fine in even live feed.So in my view star cricket HD also started DD sound because of this.Anyways..star network is showing in their HD channels Dolby digital Plus logo in their DD sound feed channels.so we can check this.another option I think all other DTHs also will start proving DD sound in star cricket HD.so that means broadcaster only started DD sound.

You can check with airtel, if DDS is available in any broadcaster end,it is also available on airtel.

I think Airtel is providing DD sound for Star Cricket HD.

As i have compared the SQ of Adtv and D2h while watching this channel.

And Adtv SQ is far better than d2h.

I know Bro.not only ADTV even Hathway also providing the same.except Tata sky all DTHs are providing broadcasters feed only.

Let me explaine one thing Bro.Yes,Zee studio HD is providing 5.1 sound in ADTV,D2h and Hathway also but asyou said in all speakers.But this problem not with the service,it is problem with the broadcaster itself.what Zee studio providing that feed only they are are giving to us.I think u got the point.

I think none of you have enquirer properly with DTH operators regarding Dolby Surround Sound.

When I have enquirer about it with a sound technical person, he had told me that Dolby sound depends upon the content. If the programme has been recorded in Dolby, they Dolby feeds will be available and if not then customised sound will come as output.

Best example is Zee Studio HD . It's movie collection is old and many a times movies originally don't have HD feed. But if someone would have watched Tron Legacy he must have got the feeling of amazing Audio quality.

broadcaster did not upgrade any to 5.1,they relay what is that.only issue is D2H convert that all to 5.1,this is killing originality,we spend more for audio system,but their fake conversion did not get the enjoyment.
