News On day one, Jayalalithaa shuts down 500 TASMAC shops in TN

IADMK general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her 28 Cabinet colleagues will be sworn in by Governor K. Rosaiah at the Madras University’s Centenary Hall at 12 noon today.

01:05 pm: Jayalalithaa has ordered implementation of five schemes on her first day of assuming office :

--> TASMAC shops to be open at 12 noon from 10 pm. 500 retail shops will be closed. Earlier the shops were open from 10 am to 10 pm.

--> 100 units of free power from today

--> Free breakfast scheme to students in govt school.

--> Waiver of crop loans for farmers.

--> Eight gram gold to women for mangalsutra.

he new Cabinet has two professional doctors, three lawyers, and six post-graduates. The newly-inducted Cabinet Ministers take a group photograph with the Chief Minister.
