Lifetime guarantees that satellites can function upto a particular time frame and beyond that it can go offline due to power surge, remember the case of insat that had a lifetime yet it failed.

so you don't know . the life time is calculated on the availabilty of power for the satellite. if any issues regarding the power then the lifetime becomes less.
