Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday advised Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah not to make any arrests in the case against Amnesty International India, a day after the state government defended the sedition charges.

Singh, who is the general secretary in charge of the state, tweeted that Siddaramaiah had assured him no arrests will be made pending investigation in the case where unidentified men allegedly shouted anti-India slogans at an event on Kashmir.

The Congress leader also clarified that only an FIR has been filed against event organiser Amnesty International and the participating students.

On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah had said nobody would be spared if they indulge in anti-national activity. State Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara, Law minister TB Jayachandra and Higher Education minister Basaravaraja Rayareddy too had defended the sedition charges saying anti-national activity would not be tolerated in Karnataka.

What is Amnesty Case?

Last February, after the Delhi Police slapped sedition charges against Kanhaiya Kumar and a few other student leaders of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) alleging they raised pro-azaadi Kashmir slogans, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi led a team of party leaders to the university and called the government action draconian.

Life now seems to have come a full circle for Rahul's party. The Congress government in Karnataka has slapped sedition charges against Amnesty International India for organising a programme on Kashmir in which some unidentified people allegedly raised azaadi slogans.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara and Law Minister TB Jayachandra have said the government was verifying claims and counter-claims and that they would not tolerate anti-national activity in the state. Parameshwara said, “The police have registered an FIR. They are verifying video recordings. Based on the outcome, they will proceed”.

what is happenning in POK is a well known fact and it is being known to the world
then y indian kashmir wants to be separated.

Suppose, if tomorrow Kashmir gets separated from india then what will happen ?
again pakistan captured it just like POK and will repeat the same what they r doing in pok with kashmiris.
