what about existing subsribers? They should come up with plan for existing subscribers first.

Ideally they should start with HD subscribers - get all of them on HEVC STB and start beaming HD channels on HEVC format

I think they will force subscriber to change STB.

You are absolutely right. I was Sun direct SD customer till yesterday. upgraded to HD now. actually i was requested for an upgradation HD + HEVC. even ready to pay 5+ months subscription. but they don't have even HD set top box, my upgradation taken 7+ days only because of the availability of STB. I got normal HD STB within one week only because the issue highlighted to Nodal officer.

If am a new customer, and requested for HD HEVC, I never get the connection within a month. I think sun direct moving in a wrong direction. First they should add new HD SD channels. nowadays everyone prefer LCD 32/40" tvs. definitely they will interested to watch their favorite shows in best quality.

They should add Major regional channels like

• Colors HD
• Sony HD
• Sony max HD
• Star Gold HD
• Movies Now HD
• Asianet HD
• Mazhavil Manorama HD
• Star Vijay HD
• Maa HD etc...

Instance of bulk replacement they can force their upgrade customer for HEVC, thats the best solution. but most surprising factor is they don't have even a single HD box in their hands. If am a new customer, 100% sure I will nt wait 1/2 weeks for sun direct.
