HELP Should I update my airtel HD+ set top box

Hello everyone,
1 yesterday I have purchased airtel HD+ set top box online for 1490/ with south mega HD pack for 1 month free subscription for my 40 inch full HD Samsung TV ,but the pen drive is not offered as they said that new stock with pen drive set is not available in my city and they don't know when that set top box with pen drive will arrive so I have got HD+ set top box without the pen drive offer.
2 I have observed that when I select Dolby digital plus in audio settings I am getting low sound but when I select stereo, volume is high compared to previous setting, especially for sd channels volume is bit high compared to HD channels.

at present my HD+ set top box release number is 502 ,so if I update it can this issue get resolved .Is there any risk if box is updated now.

If update is needed how to update the box please provide steps and please mention if it can be updated only with Ethernet cable else the wifi option is available to update.

siva962 - HD box n Hd+ are the same things only.
U will get the pen drive inside the box only means in a box all the things will be there like remote, stb as well as pen drive.

The current software is 601

the price of new stb is 1290 rs. only

can anyone telll me the difference between release version 502 and 601 and did u experience any sound difference(Dolby setting) between sd and HD channels before updating to 601

bro... ask them to give it later to u as 50 rs. is nothing.
also y they charged u 1490 rs for the same box which costs 1290 rs only ?

ask adtv technician to update it at 602.
also i think that u got an old box buddy bcoz no new box would come as 502.
all new boxes are with 601 only. so aapka maamu bana diya h.

Actually I have purchased this airtel dth HD box from Amazon at 1490/-(1 month south mega HD subscription free+3 months recording free +, pen drive)

Yes bro I have got an old set top box but the technician told that this box is better as it is having buttons and he had updated box in their office itself and he said new one doesnt have buttons. But I can see release number is 502 only now but he said he updated box.

I am experiencing low sound when using dolby digital audio setting and experiencing loud volume(compared to DD audio setting) when using stereo setting in audio.
do u have this issue of audio and I think dolby setting should get better and loud output than stereo setting.

Thinking to fix this issue I have tried manual update method of pressing exit button 2 times while initializing and pressing 2465 but I am getting screen showing zeros (0000-0000) its not showing any update I am stuck at screen showing 0000-0000 . So I have switched off box and continuing with old version with stereo setting in audio

can u suggest anything.

first of all bro - please do not take tensions anymore.
ask the technician to fix all the issues and yes it is true that dolby sound have lesser volume than stereo sounds.
second thing bro - just check with ur box bro - has all the channels' pq good or not ? especially sd ones as i heard that in older box pq is extremely good.

btw which tv do u use and of which company ?
