Well-known dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi told a press conference where a gang rape victim was narrating her ordeal that among the insensitive questions put by the police to the victim was: "Who (among the rapists) gave you the maximum pleasure?" On Wednesday, Bhagyalakshmi had posted a shocking account on Facebook of how the woman, from Thrissur, was gang-raped.

On Thursday, the 32-year-old survivor told reporters here how an invalid husband and poverty had made her vulnerable to predatory neighbours two years ago.

"We were made to sit like dogs in the station for four days. I was tortured mentally and decided to drop the case," she said.

As part of evidence collection, they took me around to public places and would ask me to explain intimate details," the gang rape survivor, who was accompanied by her husband, Bhagyalakshmi and activist and actor Parvathy, said.

She named the four men she says raped her — P N Jayanthan, Bineesh, Shibu and Janeesh. Jayanathan is a CPM councillor of Wadakanchery municipality. The woman later met DGP Loknath Behra and registered complaints against the four men.
