From bank one can take 10000 rupees per day and from ATM only 2k is allowed
Update #Rs500 and #Rs1000 notes can be deposited in exchange at banks or post offices

500 and 1000 are illegal currencies now.
and 2000*5 means 5 notes of Rs 2000.
Rs 2000 limit is for withdrawal from ATM. Through Cheque you can withdraw 10000 per day, 20000 per week and 25000 per month.

yes. in another bank because when she went for exchange in HDFC, they said currency has not arrived it yet. so she deposited the 500 notes there and went to ICICI for withdrawal where currency were available.

any official statement or confirmation because even financial institutions are saying that it will take time for new 500 notes to arrive.
