After a few days off air from airtel along with all platforms, MTunes hd finally came back on air yesterday on airtel.
Before going off air, even though they claimed to give dolby digital audio, the songs were actually giving 2.0 stereo output.
So, when they went off for a few days, it was thought that they were finally working on showing songs with real dd audio.
But shockingly, forget better audio, the audio has actually gone worse!!! Though it looks like they are trying to give 5.0 audio, it seems the encoding is not proper, as the it sounds horrible now, with a low range sounds cracking, and no 'presense factor' in mid and upper ranges!
In short, the channel sounds like amr format audio now, especially while playing songs!! Or maybe, its a problem with airtel only, but in that case, other hd channels are giving perfect dolby audio. Whatever it is, hope they find a fix soon, as the channel is more or less useless now..
