HELP channels increase after mpeg 4 migration

what will be the number of channels increase after mpeg 4 migration. Some people says that tatasky each transponder carry atlest 50 sd channels, that means near future tatasky provide atleast 500 channels on exsisting transponder
9 SD TPs = 9*50 = 450
2 HD TPs = 2*13 = 26
1 SD/HD TPs = 16 sd+9hd channels
total = 501

Currently no one can predict as it depend on system vendor used by operator. Generally as per expert 12 tp can broadcast 150 to 175 channels in good quality using mpeg2 but tata sky giving about 200 in good quality using only 11 tp so cant say nothing.

don't know . even it's true it take at least 6-8 month to migrate all STB to MPEG4 . we need to calculate how much SD HD channel can be add after South south regional migration which will end soon .

First We have to calculate sd channels count 9 tps out of 12.

10970(HD Tv),11010(Home tp),(one another next for New HD Tv)

So 9 tps left for SD

That means 35 x 9 = 315+ Sd
13 x 2 = 26 HD.

but bro why are u counet only 35 sd channels for each tps also what is a home

they can add 50 but i am talking about 35 channels in good quality.
Home Tp: All updates, sw updates r manage from Home To 11010/H/27500, they can not change any parameters ie SR,Modulation etc but they can convert all existing MPEG2 channels in to MPEG4.

So technically they can't change the existing home Transponder and configure another transponder as Home Transponer?

Earlier i was getting other TPs scanned in NIT while using other than 11010 H . Now we have to use only 11010 H TP for NIT . if we use differant TP likes of 11050 H in NIT no other TP s r getting scanned.

According to me they can change the Home TP . i found this in Sun Direct few months Back. they changed the Home TP .
