WWE Smackdown Results – 1/31/17


John Cena talks about being a 16-time World Champion

John Cena’s music hits, and the 16-time WWE Champion makes his way to the ring to a good reception. Cena tells the crowd to not be afraid to tell him how they feel. Cena says, “Corpus Christi, Texas… The Champ is here!” A “Let’s go Cena/Cena sucks” chant fires up. The Wyatt Family’s music interrupts him. Bray Wyatt walks out with the winner of the Royal Rumble, John Cena’s longtime rival, Randy Orton. They stop at the stage.Orton takes the microphone. Orton says if by some miracle Cena makes it out of the Chamber alive, he’ll be waiting for him at WrestleMania. One way or the other, he’ll end this vicious cycle and set the championship free. Wyatt says to Cena, “We’re here.” Wyatt and Orton start making their way down to the ring. Cena removes his shirt and readies himself for a fight. They get on opposite sides of the ring and climb up to the apron. Cena waits in anticipation for them to get in the ring. All of a sudden, The Wyatt Family video flashes on the screen and the lights go out. When they come back on, Luke Harper is standing by Cena’s side. Cena looks confused before realizing that he’s on his side. Wyatt and Orton quickly retreat.
Shane McMahon’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage. You can always expect the unexpected on Smackdown Live. McMahon says Wyatt and Orton will team up against the unlikely team of Luke Harper and John Cena. That match will happen right now!

Ziggler stands over him and tries to rip the mask off. Apollo Crews’ music immediately hits, and he runs down to the ring to protect Kalisto. Ziggler quickly escapes through the crowd.

American Alpha issues an open challenge

American Alpha makes their way to the ring for an open challenge with the Smackdown Tag Team Championships on the line. The Usos answer the challenge. Once they get in the ring, The Ascension’s music hits. They’re followed by The Vaudevillains and then Breezango. Finally, Heath Slater and Rhyno come out to the ring. A huge brawl breaks out between all the teams. Referees run down to break it up. They’re going to try to restore order during the break.The referees are still trying to contain the fight that’s broken out between the five teams. It doesn’t appear that the open challenge is going to happen. American Alpha clears the ring until the last team standing in there is Heath Slater and Rhyno. They stare at American Alpha, as this segment ends.


Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles

The Miz gets in the ring and picks Ambrose up for a Skull Crushing Finale. Baron Corbin then comes in and wipes out Miz with End of Days. Corbin then gives Ambrose End of Days. Styles is smiling at the destruction. Corbin points at him as the show ends.

WWE Smackdown Live Results : 2/7/17

— The show opened with Daniel Bryan coming out to address his hometown Seattle crowd. He talked about being retired for a year, and that while things haven’t gone how he wanted, he is grateful for everything. The Miz and Maryse came out to run down Bryan and say that he’ll win Elimination Chamber. He was interrupted by Baron Corbin, who told Miz to shut up. Miz hid behing Maryse, and Dean Ambrose came to the ring and spoke his piece about Elimination Chamber. He was followed by AJ Styles. They all bickered until Daniel Bryan made a Fatal 4-Way match between them as a preview for Sunday’s PPV.

1. Fatal 4-Way Match: Baron Corbin defeated AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and The Miz. Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm on Miz, but Maryse pulled Miz out of the ring before Styles could get the three-count. Corbin then hit Styles with the End of Days and got the pin.

— In a spooky Wyatt room, Luke Harper said that he would eliminate Randy Orton at Elimination Chamber.

— Tom Phillips moderated an interview with Natalya and Nikki Bella, who were in separate locations. Nikki got disgusted and left.

2. Apollo Crews defeated Dolph Ziggler. Crews blocked a superkick and rolled up Ziggler for the surprise pin.

— After the match, Ziggler attacked Crews from behind, then hit him with a steel chair. He continued the attack until Kalisto ran in. Ziggler managed to crotch Kalisto on the top rope, then hit both men with the chair again. He left them lying and walked to the back. Backstage, Daniel Bryan made it official that Ziggler would face both men in a handicap match at Elimination Chamber.

— In the ring, Renee Young hosted the first dual contract signing for Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi and Mickie James vs. Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber. The four women badmouthed each other and signed their contracts, then the affair broke down into a fight, ending with Naomi and Becky running off Alexa and Becky.

3. The Ascension, The Vaudevillains and the Usos defeated American Alpha, Rhyno and Heath Slater and Breezango. Rhyno hit Konnor with a Gore, but then Viktor hit Rhyno with a diving knee off the middle rope to get the pin.

4. John Cena defeated Randy Orton. The referee got bumped and did not see Orton tap out to the STF. Bray Wyatt and Orton then beat down Cena and Wyatt hit the Sister Abigail on Cena. Luke Harper then came to the ring and stared down Wyatt. Wyatt told him to leave, but Harper hit him with the discus lariat. Orton tried to RKO Harper, but Harper shoved him off into an AA from Cena, which got the pin.

Daniel Bryan kicks off Smackdown Live

General Manager Daniel Bryan is out first to kick off the show in Seattle. Big reaction for Bryan tonight in his home state. Loud “DANIEL BRYAN” chant starts up in Seattle. Bryan grabs a mic and says it is great to be home. He talks about how the last time they were in Seattle he had to make the most difficult decision of his life. Bryan says the last year hasn’t exactly been easy, but he wants to talk about being grateful. He is grateful to be the General Manager of Smackdown Live, that he gets to come to Seattle to give the fans the best show possible and that soon – very soon – he is going to be a father.The Miz walks out to interrupt with Maryse.Here comes Baron Corbin to interrupt a “YES” chant. Corbin tells Miz he should learn when to shut up. Miz says when he talks people listen. He suggests teaming up with Corbin at Elimination Chamber and then let the best man win. Corbin says he could just take out Miz right now so he doesn’t have to hear his mouth. Miz asks Bryan if he is going to let Corbin talk to him like that. Bryan jokingly says it would be such a shame if Miz got punched.Here comes WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose. Ambrose says Corbin and Miz are cute together. He tells Miz he can’t take him seriously with what he is wearing. Ambrose accuses Corbin of stealing the motorcycle sound from his entrance music. He talks about “bad decisions” being made inside the Elimination Chamber this Sunday. Ambrose says he will walk out WWE and Intercontinental Champion.AJ Styles is out next with a mic in hand. He asks if they are done playing “tickle butt.” Styles says everything they are saying is pure fantasy. He brings up beating all three men before. The crowd starts a loud “AJ STYLES” chant. Styles tells them to shut up so he can talk. All he cares about is becoming WWE Champion and he will win it back this Sunday. Miz says he isn’t getting the title back. Bryan interrupts telling everyone to relax. He suggests a fatal four way match tonight before Elimination Chamber. Seattle likes this idea. Bryan brings up that match starts right now. We head to commercial as everyone in the ring gets ready.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Apollo Crews

After the match, Dolph Ziggler quickly attacks Apollo Crews from behind. Ziggler grabs a steel chair on the outside, returns to the ring and cracks it over the back of Crews. The crowd starts a “ONE MORE TIME” chant. Ziggler cracks it again over the back of Crews. Kalisto runs out and hits the ring. He avoids a steel chair and kicks the chair in the face of Ziggler. Kalisto then drops Ziggler with a quick superkick, goes for Salida Del Sol, but Ziggler crotches him on the top rope. Ziggler then cracks the chair over the back of Kalisto. The crowd calls for another chair shot and Ziggler again hits Kalisto. Ziggler heads to the back.


Elimination Chamber Dual Contract Signing

Renee Young introduces to the dual contract signing for Elimination Chamber.Mickie James and WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss are out first.
Becky Lynch and Naomi head to the ring next.Renee refers to all four women as elite athletes. Mickie James cuts her off saying only two elite athletes are here: Alexa Bliss and herself, the six-time Women’s Champion. James puts over she has the most experience in this ring combined. She tells Renee she can handle it from here. James says this entire women’s division was built on her obsession to be the absolute best. She accuses Becky Lynch of trying to erase the past. James talks about waiting on the sidelines for seven years and doesn’t think she is getting the credit she deserves. She says not only did she create the women’s revolution, she created Becky. James signs the contract for Elimination Chamber. Becky says no one is trying to erase her accomplishments, but she was disappointed that James teamed up with “that little troll” Alexa Bliss. She says James walked away from WWE when things got tough. Becky says she plans to walk right through James this Sunday. She says she will slap James back to the past. Becky signs the contract for Elimination Chamber this Sunday.
