At first GEC, then News channel, now music channels for all regional markets, hope soon they will launch movie channel also for all region.

Yes parallely Movie market will also be targeted. After Zee TALKIES & Zee Bangla Cinema which are in top 5 channel in respective genre Zee started with Cinemalu for Telugu.
In last one year Zee has acquired rights of popular Tamil Kannada & Bhojpuri movies once a decent library is created movie channels in respective languages will be launched.

Puneet Goenka in an interview said
"He also noted that the company will enter Kerala and Punjab markets with regional entertainment channels. “On the regional side, I do not see from where I am today any opportunity for consolidation currently in the markets that I pointed out, which is Kerala and Punjab. I believe those both will have to be Greenfield,” he added.

“Our film acquisition strategy was driven largely on Hindi side. We were not looking at the regional markets in a very aggressive manner because we were predominantly running only GEC products. Now, having our strategy to expand into other genres, we need to be aggressive in buying films in the regional markets as well. So that is also a large function of the cost or the inventory is going up,” Goenka explained.

Besides Zee Malayalam & Zee Punjabi, Zee also planning to expand their regional portfolio. Their first target is to expand Telugu portfolio. Zee Telugu & Cinemalu are already existed there. So hopefully they will launch music, another GEC and a news channel there.

I've been waiting for a Punjabi GEC.

Punjab is currently the only market without any GEC.
The wait was/is very painful.
Other languages have dozens of channel
Though Pitaara raised some hope
but they have restricted it to only Faatway and Airtel dish.

I m not telling that. Read the main thread. The Head of Zee ensure us like that.
I m a bengali & can't understand punjabi. Although I want more n more punjabi GEC.
