Bharti Airtel, India’s largest phone company, rolled out ‘Airtel Surprises’ on Monday for home broadband customers offering them free additional data and content benefits within their existing plans as a special gesture to mark its 2 million home broadband subscribers milestone.

Existing Airtel home broadband customers will get free additional monthly data top-up with their existing broadband plans at no extra cost. Customers will also have free access to Airtel Movies, which has a collection of over 10,000 Hollywood & Bollywood titles, premium TV shows across a host of genres.

“We are happy to cross the 2 million customers milestone, further consolidating our leadership as the second-largest player in the fixed broadband sector in India,” Hemanth Kumar Guruswamy, CEO (Homes), Bharti Airtel (India) said in a media statement.

Guruswamy said with the additional benefits available through Airtel Surprises, home broadband customers will be able to do much more with existing plans.

To avail of ‘Airtel Surprises’ offers, customers need to log on to Airtel Broadband Surprise and unlock their ‘surprise’, the company statement added.

With the recent launch of “V-Fiber”, Airtel enabled its customers to enjoy broadband speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

Chor company. V-fiber is not on fiber. And what surprise did they give 2gb additional data on top of 130gb my monthly quota.

Vfiber is not the traditional optical fiber. It is in fact very thin copper cables which uses the vectorization technology to deliver 100Mbps speeds. Since Airtel has now been able to lay the cables across different cities in the country, it is offering up to 1000GB free data with its plans.

Sorry to burst your bubble, vfiber is POS. It is nothing new, just a vdsl connection on the existing copper wires. They can use any fancy name to fool the gullible customers. Also how many people are getting 100mbps? They are not even able to provide 20mbps to most of the subscribers.
