For me south indian regional channels are all crap and wast of TP they should all go and buy sun.... come on guys this thread is a wast of time ... every one has their choice and right to choose and watch.... u watch what you want and ignore or delete channel that you do not want.... why even discuss it... after all we are not business controller or decision makers of any DTH operators

In the beginning itself I have mentioned its not about regional channels.

There is an option to hide channels and another option is to opt for a la carte package.

Almost 50-60% of entire bouquet is useless for everyone. But this is how DTH package works.

Most of these so called useless channels contribute to carriage fee to DTH operator. Due to which we enjoy so many channels is lesser monthly rental. If you look at US DTH operators package list, all channels looks fancy and so is the pricing. . .

Everyone has its own choice.

From my point of view my viewing channel count will be 70/80 channels so its mean that all other channels from D2h are useless to me.

But wont work like that because the channel i dont like are useful for others.

agree but do you think 2 movie channels from a single broadcaster would differ apart from other genres?

There are good Hindi news channels like ABP news, Zee news and ndtv India(These are my favourites among Hindi news channels, I've other preferences when it comes to English news channels).Maybe You Dont watch them, but it wouldnt mean they're all crap.You may not like a channel, but there are ppl who like that particular one.
As far as my point of view is concerned, this thread is a complete waste.As long as You get the channels You want, the presence of other channels should not affect you.And a DTH does not add channels only on demand- it also has to think of carriage fees which help it raise revenue and thereby help it keep package prices under control.
