HELP Spdif/Optical out problem

I have tata sky hd stb which has only spdif and Samsung Home Theare which has opitical in. I purchased toslink and used it for 1 year now I dont know what happened its not working. Is there any other company hd stb in tata sky which has optical in. I heard that tata sky plus hd has optical out option. If I purchase this can I use my existing account with the new tata sky plus hd. Please answer me. I have searched threads but I didnt find any such type of problem hence I am posting new thread. Sorry if already a thread exists.

You will need to upgrade then only you will be able to use the same account.

Another simple optiom if but and SPDIF to Optical converter. You won't need to make bigger investments.

Optical out is available in Tata sky plus hd . You have to convey CC before purchase that you will use the same existing account on new HD DVR.
I upgraded to HD DVR, I am using old account with new HD DVR, whereas my old STB is now paired with new a/c.

Hi Hari.I can advise one thing.You can get Dolby sound threw SPDIF output also(If your HT having Optical output).do one thing.Please check Tata sky is giving Dolby sound threw HDMI cable.if yes,you can get Dolby sound. Please check your TV is having optical out is there or not.if it is there,tata sky STB to HDMI cable to ur TV,from ur TV to optical out put to ur HT optical in put.so your problem can solve.I think Tata sky STB is enabled dolby sound via HDMi cable,only thing is ur Tv is having optical out put or not.if yes,our problem will be solved.try it and let me know.

I have samsung 5 series Lcd Tv of 37 inches purchased in 2010 and it doesn't have optical out only hdmi, usb av out. Thats why I have used toslink connector spdif to optical but now its not working. Thats why I am getting only stereo sound.

Then..as IM bhai said..you have to buy a new converter.

Its a wonderful experience and dvr is also quite good but only one problem is I am getting excellent sound in HD channels through optical out but resound and no clarity sound in SD channels. Dont know may be the cable problem or something else.
