Really you don't know this. Pakistan has got huge fan following fan of Indian Soaps and Movies.

Citing this oppourtunity, D Company is doing mega level piracy of Indian Movies and Songs and distributing us back.

Recently i came to know that the SADAF fingerprint which i saw in my childhood days on movies being shown by cable operators is the brandname of D company which has a factory in Karanchi to do all kind of piracy throughout the world.

Yes .. I hav also seen that "SADAF" logo on video songs which i use to buy during my school days. That were having a good & enhanced sound quality as compared to any other music brand.

Now d2h also providing to recharge with International cards. So, d2h tooo might grow eventually.

But any idea Mazi bro, what Pak Govt is planning to counter this. Aren't there any DTH service ?
Right now no such action is taking place against these DTH selling retailers.

Currently no locally based DTH is operating in Pakistan.

These Cable operators who are shouting upon the gradual increase of indian DTH in the country , They are the main hurdle in between any new DTHs in country, whenever talks took place with any interested party , these cable operators threatens to shut cable in whole country.

One iptv Ptcl Smart Tv service is giving its services in major cities and demand is increasing in DTHs because people are going toward LCDs and LEDs now.

Also state owned department PEMRA is not interested to bring DTH on ground.

Five million is huge no. Better Pak govt should legalise them and take some tax out of it.

Aren't they planning to launch one. Because unless they launch this would continue.

They cant expect a DTH anytime soon i believe. They recently (a year ago), launched a satellite (Paksat 1R), that too with the help of china. TP scarcity is one side, and then the media; its not grown as we have in india.

I wish they too develop such things in faster way. More the development lesser the illiteracy and more peaceful is the life.

Indian DTH services go 'direct' to Pakistan, payments made through hawala

Kazmi is based in Karachi and is using a set-top box he bought on the black market. For Pakistani viewers hooked on Indian TV, an entire ecosystem has evolved to help foster the habit.

It's based on illegal direct-to-home (DTH) subscriptions and depends on the hawala system to ensure payments made in Pakistan are received in India. Kazmi's connection, for instance, is registered in India under a bogus name.

Tracing such subscriptions is near impossible, Videocon chairman Venugopal Dhoot told ET. And, geographical proximity means it's impossible to stop the signal from being downloaded in Pakistan.

He said such illegal subscriptions are also available in the Gulf, which has a large population from the subcontinent. "We are aware the settop boxes are smuggled to Pakistan and the Middle East, with registration done in Delhi or other Indian states. There's no way for a service provider to fix this problem," said Dhoot.

The process works through a well-connected set of 'dealers' in India and Pakistan who place orders and even service requests on occasion through email and Skype.

I think that introducing DTH in Pakistan is not just about advanced technology; it is about media war and illegal money. The government needs to take a serious action against not only the illegal Indian DTH service providers but also against local cable operators who are running foreign content. Pakistan should have its own legal DTH!
