In a jolt to Aam Aadmi Party, two of its key members Shazia Ilmi and G R Gopinath today quit, citing differences with party leadership and slammed Arvind Kejriwal's "jail politics".

The simmering discontent in the fledgling party since its Lok Sabh poll debacle came to the fore as Ilmi, one of the founder members, announced her resignation from all party posts, claiming that there was lack of "inner-party democracy" and a "crony clique" around Kejriwal was calling the shots.

Gopinath, pioneer of low-cost air travel in India who joined the party in January, targeted Kejriwal saying a head of a party cannot indulge in "shoot and scoot politics" and questioned his refusal to furnish a bail bond in the defamation case filed against him by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.

Addresing a press conference in Delhi, Ilmi, who lost from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat, said, "After much thought and deliberation I have decided to give up my membership of AAP and resign from all positions within the party."

Ilmi, however, clarified that she is not joining any other party.

"My decision to leave the party is triggered by the lack of inner-party democracy, especially from a party that constantly talks of Swaraj (self rule)," she said.

First Anna parted away with Kejriwal. Then Kiran Bedi, then Binny, now Shazia Ilmi and Gopinath.

So, I think most of the members who have joined AAP for Janlokpal have now left.

So, Kejriwal seems to understand the people and party members feeling and change himself.

already the fate of AAP was known after the Lok sabha debacle. AAP is nothing but hungry for power and position as evident from its recent actions.

I don't find anything bad in power hunger but Atleast don't show such obsession and drama for it.

They should work in field and then people will automatically elect then if they will be able to gain their confidence

Kejriwal did big big mistake by contesting againest namo. He should be realize that he won because of congress lose faith of people in delhi. He think same for all india. Very big mistake in hurry to sit on pm chair. Ye to hona hi tha.

Actually. By targeting NaMo he made everyone think that he is Team B of Congress and all his move were counted as bad.

And with the recent Jail going drama, their party members too feel that he is wasting everyone time and screwing. So, they too making way away from AAP

AAP hijacked congress slogan and congress had to think something new else it would be "congress ka haath Aam aadmi Kay saath". Had congress used this slogan it would confirm that AAP is indeed B team of Congress. Congress is fighting for its survival and it has to groom non Gandhi family leaders to take over else it is doomed.

AAP on the other hand thought it was a cake walk to win LS election after its recent Delhi win which did not happen. AAP biggest mistake was projecting all leaders except AK and his group as corrupt was a non starter. Which only helped showing that they were arrogant and did not respect the law. AAP leaders now knowing that they cannot repeat their Delhi success again in the coming Delhi re election are deserting the party now.

Frankly speaking Arvind Kejriwal was never a PM material. He was so aggressive and shortsighted that he keep taking U turn on his own words.

Exams are over and results are about to declare. Still Kejriwal didn't vacated the government residence which he is occupying even after not in power.

I find no special quality in him as compared to his partners Sisodiya, Prashant Bhushan, Yadav etc and the most stupid one I. E Somnath. All of them are equally Hungry for power and want to change each and everything in India.

In a fresh blow to Arvind Kejriwal in the midst of his electoral battle with Narendra Modi in Varanasi, AAP's National Council member Maulana Maqsood Ali Kazmi on Wednesday quit the party, levelling a series of allegations against the leadership.

Singing the tune of many rebels and dissidents, Kazmi fired a salvo at the leadership, alleging that the party has being taken over by 4-5 people and that it was only targeting Mukesh Ambani led-Reliance Industries.
