I don't think so. Its all because of popularity of channel and above that space availability with DTH operators.

Don't know about exact money of that package but once I asked about this to Sales Executive of dishtv he said you have to buy these channels in a package you can't buy channels separately may be a blackmailing policy from STAR / FIC.
