I think Bangla Talkies will be a bengali movie channel. Great news for us, because there are only two movie channels are available in Bengal (Star Jalsha Movies & Zee Bangla Cinema; Planet M Cinema & Bangla Cinema both the channels are already shut down).

But little bit confusion are arised here, Bangla Talkies, owned by Media Worldwide Ltd, which is a part of Shree Venkatesh Films (SVF). They have deal with Star Jalsha Movies to telecast all SVF's movies, also both are the partners. Then how can they launch another movie channel, i don't know.

Svf not only has deal for movies with Star but it also does content production for Star Jhalsa.
So if they are getting into movie business it would mean that Star Jhalsa Movies will loose its supremacy.

The group is Bengal based & It already has 4 music channels Sangeet Bangla - Sangeet Marathi Sangeet Bhojpuri & Music India & Travel Xp channels in SD, HD & Tamil. Now it's about to launch Bangla Movie channel. What next? The obvious Bangla GEC(just a guess)

In marathi region, Zee is no 1. So They launched another marathi GEC (Zee Yuva). Samely, in Kannada region, Colors Kannada is no.1. So they also launched another Kannada GEC (Colors Super). But in bengali region, Star Jalsha continue dominate the market after its launching. But still now, Star is not planning for another GEC for bengal.
