Yes, I had got the D2H last year July and my subscription will be there till Oct - 14. So I am now confused whether I would get PIX HD or not!

Better wait for channel to be added. May be you too get it without any extra bucks.
No a-la-carte for PIX HD in dish tv...few select hd channels can be subscribed as a-la-carte...for PIX HD you have to take full on HD add on.

And for that few HD channels you have to select any of the HD add on pack. So not customer friendly.
Really? I guess sd base pack + a-la-carte (selected ones only , e.g. Romedy Now+, History HD, HBO HD etc) is allowed. Add on hd are bunch of hd channels as a whole but there are few which belong to a-la-carte and can be subscribed one by one. But such channels are very few. For others you have to see in which add on your channel falls and pick accordingly from 125, 175 and 200rs add on hd packs. As per what I can see, PIX HD is available in 200 rs add on hd pack and that is called full-on hd pack

You first needs to become HD customer then only you can select COLORS HD kinda channels. And you will become HD customer when you select one of the HD add on pack.
