Them why we HD customers will not able to watch those mpeg 4 channels for free?
Is free dish encrypting it due to dishtv free viewing?
But actually we are not viewing those channels for free
We are paying package cost of this bunch of paid & free channels

DD FD wants to encrypt to know how many subscribers they have.

DD FD will use different encryption hence Dish TV STB will not be able to decrypt those channels

All Dish TV customers are also DD FD customers. Why should DD FD care about Dish TV? Is Dish TV paying any fees to DD FD?

Only Sun Direct can answer that question There is no proof of Dish TV paying fees or having agreement with DD Free Dish.

If indeed they had a deal, why not continue the same deal for MPEG4 channels as well?

There is a article way back dishtv COO clearly said that they're using TPs of Free Dish.

One thing is for sure here that dishtv can't do illegal business here its a clear cut business not Free To Air thing. They won't even needs to explain anyone here.

Otherwise Sun Direct can easily use those TPs and sell those channels as their service.

Here dishtv put those DD Free Dish channels under in normal LCNs with which they having contract and put those channels under 4 digit LCN with which they don't.

If these channels are illegal then why till now no one from any DTH or Govt. agency filed a case against them yet ? Because they need 1 petition like someone did against Pakistani channels testing.

Regarding MPEG 4 channels no one knows what exactly DD going to do with them, if they let the slot for FTA channels then why FTA going to bid to get encrypted ? and if DD Free Dish fully going to encrypt ourself then surely dishtv will demand extra bandwidth to carry DD channels.
