According to this news 4 Malayalam TV channels will be launched soon.
Breaking News - New "MATRABUMI NEWS" channel started testing from IS 17 @66°E | Entertainment : DTH , Telecom & Technology Discussion Forum

, the channels in the pipeline include names like Kaumudy TV (by Kerala Kaumudi) and Raj News Malayalam (test runs are on for both the channels), Media One, scheduled to be launched in August this year, Zee Malayalam, Asianet Chiri, Janapriya TV and Kairali Arabia

We are hearing about Zee Malayalam and Raj channels since many years...Hopefully they will launch on this year itself....

Media One, Mathrubhumi, Kaumudi; are sure to be launched soon; and all are in test mode now. The rest are all not sure. Raj News Mal; is testing for years and i think they dropped the plan. Janapriya too gone, and seems their license also expired. (they supposed to start test, some months back and failed).

Mathrubhumi news channel & kappa tv (entertainment channel from mathrubhumi ) is almost scheduled to launch on Jan 13.mediaone tv on Feb 10.no info on rest of channels...
