9X Jalwa is from Asiasat 3S , using Irdeto Encryption
9X Jhakas is from Insat 4A , using Irdeto Encryption

yes, all channels from 9x group are encrypted but they provide it free to cable tv opestor. Only need to get IRD box from 9x media and a contract. These channels are till fta.[i read this when they introduced 9x jalwa]

Well that means its encrypted for them too as they has to buy a decoder supplied by them which is coded .These methods r used by few others broadcasters too . U Know FTA Channels can be viewed by any one in any Recievers .

The differance is Cable operator has to give One Time subscription ie: Buying A decoder ,there is no monthly payments.
A Cable operator can say in detail

Most of the regional channel do this.So this can't be called fta.the price of that stb varies in between 2k-3k for single subscriber.
So these can't be called fta.

I must say now ADTV packages are very costly.Now I am in 375 rupees package(I forgot that package name)but still I am not having this channel.not only this I am not having many SD channels.No Hollywood channels,Music channels(b4u music and etc coming) I am getting all HD channels and telugu channels.This is too much.D2h packages are far far better comparatively.

im using adtv and i am getting masti, b4u and etc. Bindass and zoom air music most of the time. im also getting zee cafe, times now, HT,Ndtv and cnnibn on my south value sports pack along with ESS channels.
