The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi is facing criticism after it issued a circular asking ministers to file defamation cases against the media if they think it is needed.

The Editors Guild of India deplored the controversial circular calling it a 'crude attempt' to 'still' media criticism and demanded its immediate withdrawal.

Attacking the media, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday had said, "Media keeps showing us in negative light but don't worry about that as people of Delhi is happy with. Despite seeing media, people gave us 67 seats."
