England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler will return for a second stint in the Big Bash League, this time with the Sydney Thunder. Buttler is expected to be available for the first six games of the tournament, which starts from December 19, before the start of England's limited-overs series against Australia and the tour of New Zealand.
Callum Ferguson has signed up with Sydney Thunder for the next three seasons of the Big Bash League, ending his three-year term with the Melbourne Renegades.
Yasir Shah has been signed up as a replacement player by Brisbane Heat for this year's Big Bash League (BBL). It is his first involvement with the BBL, having previously played T20 competitions in Pakistan and West Indies.
Chris Lynn has signed a new five-year deal with the Big Bash League franchise Brisbane Heat. The franchise has called it "the biggest deal in BBL history", although among Australian players, Aaron Finch is also on a lucrative long-term deal having signed with Melbourne Renegades for three seasons in August 2016.
Wicketkeeper Peter Nevill will return to the Sydney Sixers for the 2017-18 Big Bash League after five seasons with the Melbourne Renegades. Nevill had been part of the Sixers side that won the inaugural BBL in 2011-12, and will return to the franchise on a multi-year deal.
Ben Dunk has signed a two-year deal with the Melbourne Stars ahead of the 2017-18 Big Bash League. Representing Adelaide Strikers, he had been thetop-scorer last season, with 364 runs in eight innings with strike-rate of 163.96. Dunk had also played for Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL, between 2013 and 2016, scoring 814 runs in 31 matches at a strike-rate of 129.
