Cable operator ADN Networks has selected NDS to launch its digital cable TV service in central and Western Delhi.

NDS will provide MediaHighway set-top box software, VideoGuard conditional access, a customized electronic program guide (EPG) and interactive functionality such as games and TV applications, including regional content.

NDS will also enable additional revenue streams by providing regional advertising capabilities via the EPG home page and banner ads supported by NDS Dynamic Advanced Advertising technology.

"With its raft of innovative, affordable technologies and strong support framework, we are confident that NDS is the right technology provider to enable the launch our digital cable TV services," said Tejinder Chawla, director, ADN Networks.

"With the digitisation of cable TV in India rapidly progressing, cable operators are looking to migrate their existing platforms to digital," said Jayant Changrani, country head & general manager NDS India.

ADN claims that it has a strong subscriber base in central and Western Delhi and was established in 2000. NDS will continue to work closely with ADN to deliver a raft of world-leading, affordable and innovative solutions and services to its growing subscriber base in Delhi.

NDS' VideoGuard is deployed in 133 million pay-TV households. VideoGuard conditional access (CA) and digital rights management (DRM) technologies safeguard pay-TV service revenues exceeding $50 billion.

NDS middleware, which enables a host of advanced services for subscribers, has been deployed on 226 million devices. NDS DVR technology, centred around XTV, is a leader in the global industry with 49 million units deployed.
