how does it work for airtel by doing so? People will opt for ops having these hd channels. I guess this is the extreme step by losing new customers but retaining old ones.

yes i am quite sure star is the culprit but if other operators keep relaying this channel and airtel drops it that means airtel is at fault. if others can work out a deal why can't airtel work a deal. this is not an excuse for airtel. let us wait n watch if others too drop it
you know guys airtel never like to loss famous channels,they know the market much better than others.if they made some decision that should be some reason behind this.airtel will loss only HD customers(sports lovers)so no loss for airtel only for us who own the HD .
