An Airtel representative has confirmed to MediaNama that they’ve changed these terms because they are launching a separate VoIP pack. They’ve sent a statement:
“We have made some revisions in the composition of our data packs, and will offer VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) connectivity through an independent pack that will be launched shortly. Our customers can continue enjoying voice calls over data connectivity by opting for this VoIP pack, or simply use VoIP services on pay-as-you-go basis.”

So we have to opt another pack for VoIP, days are not far behind when Telecom companies gonna introduce separate packs for Youtube, Dailymotion, FB, Twitter etc. Then this VoIP service will also divide with Skype pack, Whats App pack, Line pack, Hike pack. And literally data pack will become Google pack so Google with that Google pack and burn out money to these sucking companies.
Nobody has to pay anything to Airtel. There are couple of options :-
1) Use a VPN app (For example SurfEasy, Tunelbear, HotSpotshield) that are freely available on Google Play store for Android. With VPN app, Airtel cannot distinguish whether a data packet is Voip (skype, viber) or general data.
2) Port out to BSNL/MTNL. They will never loot like Airtel

I think even communication minister made a statement to look into this news steps of Airtel. Thanks to today's online media who made a huge outcry of this new Airtel act. They may not succeed this time in looting us.
