Amazon Prime Video inks long-term deal to stream ‘Kabali’ and ‘Theri’

I don't think 499 includes Video/Music streaming subscription. Talking about Netflix, all the Netflix originals are available in India and this was due to the distribution rights that the library isn't as extensive as the US.

Amazon music is not available in India. Only video will be soon available and is the part of prime subscription.

Yes, but it is still not available. The price tag of 499 is also an introductory offer on the original price of 999.
It may be subjected for a revision once Video streaming service goes online.
This could be a rumor, but I've heard that Music streaming may be arriving too.

I know it's introductory price, but even at 999 with inclusion of Prime Video is lot cheaper than Netflix. I am waiting to see what Netflix does, because they have been completely ignorant in India so far, starting from their act of not accepting domestic debit cards.

Netflix should have gone Uber way, use a third party payment gateway like PayTM. Some Debit Cards do work with Netflix but they need to be enabled from the Banker's end. Netflix follows a subscription policy, which is easier if you have a Credit Card, you just need to be billed.

Coming to the contents, Amazon and Netflix do not have enough *local* or *regional* content like HotStar or Voot. It is still in nascent stage, and since Amazon Netflix have worldwide users, investing a lot in Indian content would be risky.

I don't watch local content, but there should be ample of English language content. It's still not late for them to re-plan their business concept in India. It's not the US and most Indians don't have credit cards.
