Introduction
DD Direct+ is an Indian Free to Air(FTA) digital satellite television owned by Doordarshan. It provides digital video and audio programming to households and businesses in India. It offers a satellite alternative to the free-view service on digital terrestrial television, with a broadly similar selection of channels available without subscription for users purchasing a receiver.
DD Direct Plus was launched on December 16, 2004 by it's parent company Doordarshan which is a public service broadcaster nominated by the Government of India.
