An impressive win for Team India. Sachin again thrilled us by slapping two Sixes.
Yes,
an impressive win for India,It is a great to watch India win in a test match after long time. Dhoni,Kohli and Ashwin played very crucial roles. But....without Sachin's innings the confidence to perform would have been lacking in the team.

Australia tour of India 2013

Australia won the toss, and elected to bat first

Michael Clarke:"It feels harder than Chennai. Still spin will play a big part. Might see a bit up-and-down from the fast bowlers, as it will deteriorate as the game goes on." Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc are out. Xavier Doherty and Glen Maxwell are in. So Wade plays, with a broken cheekbone

MS Dhoni: "Looks like a different track, quite different from Chennai. Important we start well with the new ball. Will be a bit more pace and bounce. Reverse swing will play a role, as it looks on the drier side." India are unchanged, Pragyan Ojha, India's best current spinner for many, sits out again, this time on his home ground. If you are MS Dhoni, one way you could justify this is - Ojha gives you control, so does Jadeja, who can bat and field better. With Ashwin and Harbhajan in the side already, I might not exactly need Ojha to run through sides. As an aside, I fail to understand how Harbhajan still makes it to the side, barring the fact that Australia have so many left-handers. But is that reason enough to play an offspinner who is clearly off-colour?

Quotes from Presentation

"India deserve a lot of credit," says Michael Clarke. "They outplayed us in every facet of the game. There is no doubt we have a lot of work to do. In all facets of the game. There will certainly be no stone left unturned. The batsmen haven't put enough runs on, and there is no excuse for that. There will be no break between the Test matches. There will be a lot of hard work, I can assure you. You don't get better sitting on the couch. We have had guys get in and out without making big scores. That's unacceptable."

"It was important to get off to a good start," says MS Dhoni. "Bhuvneshwar provided that. You don'tsee fast bowlers getting too many in these conditions. We often talk about long partnerships. If you get 40-50, you have to score big. That's what Pujara and Vijay did. That resulted in a massive partnership, which gave us the freedom to accelerate yesterday. It was very important to not give their seamers wickets, and I think they saw that period off really well. After that they could dictate terms. Very good bowling performance. It was important to start today's play really well, and Ishant gave us the important breakthrough. I think I have got a very good side. Yes we have gone through a period we haven't won many games. Credit goes to the team and the support staff. And winning most matches as captain is a collective effort, and credit goes to each and everyone."

"Really happy about it," says Cheteshwar Pujara, the Man of the Match. "There was a bit of pressure on me. I just got married, and my wife was worried I should perform. We knew that the new ball would do a bit. The plan was to not lose any wickets in that first session. My natural game to play that fast. Scoring those many runs in domestic runs has given me the experience to help me keep the tempo. It was a very important partnership with Vijay, our communication was good and it set the platform."
