According to reports, Steve Smith and David Warner have been handed one-year bans after they were implicated in the ball tampering saga from the Newlands Test, Cricket Australia confirmed on Wednesday (March 28). Cameron Bancroft, meanwhile, has been banned for nine months.

Apart from the bans, both Smith and Warner have been banned from leading Australia for a period of two years. The players can, however, challenge the sanctions levied against them.

Steve Smith and Warner did not had the balls to do it themselves and choose the most vulnerable player. And then he had the audacity of not naming warner in the press conference.

Fixing is fixing no matter where you do. RR CSK were also banned for fixing of matches.

And there is a difference between sreesanth and smith. On one hand sree was not loved or regarded by most cricket fans in india due to his past behaviour issues. On the other hand smith is the captain of team and most regarded player of their team back home.
