The Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) has pulled up Hindi general entertainment channel Zee TV and action-oriented channel Big Thrill for showcasing offensive content. The channels have been asked to run an apology scroll on 9 February.
A domestic violence sequence showcased in Zee TV’s fiction show ‘Qubool Hai’ and the absence of posting a warning for the show ‘Fear Factor’ on Thrill prompted the council to take the action.
Agreeing to air the apology, Zee TV has maintained that it was in no way trying to glorify domestic violence against women.
