The drop in media rights revenue notwithstanding, the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) profit for the financial year 2013–14 has jumped 67 per cent. This has been aided by an increase in revenue from the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Champions League T20 along with a corresponding decline in expenditure on cricket operations. The cricket board posted a profit of Rs 526 crore (Rs 5.26 billion) during the fiscal compared to Rs 312 crore (Rs 3.12 billion) a year ago. Income from operations increased 44 per cent to Rs 1194 crore (Rs 11.94 billion) from Rs 892 crore (Rs 8.92 billion) in the earlier year.
