Essel Group chairperson Subhash Chandra’s plan to take on the cricket establishment has caught the attention of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI has threatened to pull out of the proposed India–Pakistan series if Ten Sports airs the matches, The Indian Express has reported. Ten Sports is the official broadcast partner of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), having bagged the rights for $150 million for a period of five years recently. India is expected to tour Pakistan in December–January 2015–16 for a series involving two Tests, five ODIs and two T20s. Pakistan plays its domestic matches in the UAE. “Our stand is quite clear. We will not play the series if Ten Sports is the broadcaster,” the report quoted an unnamed senior BCCI official as saying.
