So, "Solid" must be a brand I guess ! (I have STB of "Signal" brand, is it a good brand ?)

But, I'm a noob in this dth thingy .. so I dont know much about such things (I don't even know the abbreviations, but I'm very eager to know)

so will you please explain me what to look for when I'm buying a STB or receiver ?

jime bro, first you have to look out for supported audio formats, as most of the Solid models doesn't support AC3/AAC (Dolby Digital). Look for HD STB as this is the latest

Are you planning to setup bigger dishes for viewing FTA channels or only DD FD ku band setup?

There are variety of FTA STB's in the market depending on the budget and features. Are you interested in only watching DD Free Dish?

Ya Bro, I only want to watch the free channels..... (I don't want to pay the monthly rental)

And don't know about the dish types.. (at my home I have "dish tv" dish with STB of "Signal" brand name on it)

I would like to watch all the available free channels in this world.. so..

and also my budget is medium ..so please do suggest accordingly
