Hello friends
After using airtel HD for 1.5 years finally bought Tata Sky HD connection with Ultra + HDAF.

Pros:
Superior PQ on SD and HD channels
Super cool UI
Portal Account that we can add or remove any addons
Can add channels for 1 day and remove next day
Universal slim remote
Small logo (airtel worst in this)


Cons:
I feel some HD channels PQ not upto the mark compare to Airtel HD (eg. Sun Music HD)
No USB recording so far.
AQ on HD channels bit dull compare to Airtel HD.
Tamil channels lcn arrangement completely wrong in tatasky according to the genre (airtel perfect)

You have raised a good point. Picture quality on Tata sky is better than Airtel but audio quality of Airtel is better in hd channels

I guess TataSky must have stopped ordering x264 set-top boxes now. Because it doesn't seem to make any point if they are planning to migrate to x265/HEVC.

Did they provide a new set-top box to all of their users when they migrated from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4?

No, they are giving both Technicolor HD and Humax HD STB. The new stock of Technicolor has new TS logo and new remote.

Which one is x265? Humax? I have a Technicolor one so I would guess it's Humax.
But why are they still selling x264! Don't they have any plan to migrate to x265?
