Dakshina Kannada Telecom district of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has set up additional base transceiver stations at Shibaje and Shirady in Belthangady taluks, Madavu in Puttur taluk, Kollamogaru in Sullia taluk and Puthige in Moodbidri taluk, YC Mishra, principal general manager, DK telecom district said. The signal strengths of these BTSs have been enhanced to ensure better and effective communication, he noted.
Replying to queries from Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP at the telecom advisory committee meeting here on Thursday, Mishra said BSNL will also set up BTS's at Siddakatte, Moorje Cross, Pokkadigoli, Dandekodi, Sangabettu, Vamadapadavu in Bantwal taluk within another week. Mishra said in areas where there is demand for 3G services of the state owned telecom company, BSNL has accordingly set up BTS that offers this service to customers.
BSNL will take steps to enhance the signal strengths of BTS's as and where required, Mishra said, adding steps have also been taken to set up BTS's at Perla in Belthangady, Guthigaru in Sullia, Kavu-Keyuru, Mura, Konaje, Kumbra, Kembaru, Balavana, Krishna Nagar areas in Puttur taluk. Materials to set up these BTSs have already been issued and they would start functioning as and when the work of installing the BTS is completed, Mishra noted.
