Hindi movie channels will be switched off from 11 pm onwards on October 15, followed by news channels on October 18 for a similar period and Hindi entertainment channels on October 22.

An uneasy calm is already prevailing as the top multi-system operators (MSOs) have switched off English movie channels in Mumbai and Delhi on analogue cable from 10 October, the two prime ad markets. Next to follow is Hindi movie channels from 15th, news channels from 18th and Hindi GECs from 22nd of October.

English Movie Channel has already been black out in Delhi and Mumbai, but surprise to see that they didn't blacked out in Kolkata & Chennai

Does this hint that Digitization deadline could be extended in these 2 metros ??

As of now these are only gossips.Govt given public interest adds in TVs and even in theaters also. SMS circulating in all corners.so i think Govt not in a mood to postpone digitalization as of now.

So, As per the Blackout schedule after 11:00 PM, Hindi movie channels will go dark today for analog Cable TV Users in 4 metros.
