The office looked like any call centre in the capital. The company got in touch with their targets using bulk messaging and calling services and claimed to have solutions for any problem in the world, literally. However, in reality, this was an extortion and cheating racket which duped several people of lakhs.

The 'company' placed informers in upscale localities across the city. These informers, who were familiar with astrology, used to chat up security guards and maids to find out about problems being faced by their employers. Thereafter, executives at the call centre used to send a customised message to the target, promising to take away all their woes using a yantra and by conducting a special hawan.

After trapping a customer, the accused used to demand lakhs on the pretext of bringing them good luck. However, the gang ran out of luck when they extorted around Rs 12 lakh from a businesswoman in Lajpat Nagar.

Fantastic concept to cheat people. Indians are anyway inclined towards Baba and astrology so anything on their name can be easily monetized.
