Following the arrest of his aides by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the illegal telephone exchange case, former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Thursday met DMK chief M Karunanidhi.
Maran alleged that he was being framed in the case to please an Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh ideologue. "I am being singled out. CBI fixing me to please an RSS ideologue from Tamil Nadu, CBI torturing, forcing the arrested three persons to give statements against me," he said after his meeting with Karunanidhi.
Hitting out at the CBI, Maran said that it should be a fact finding agency not a fixing one. "We have co-operated absolutely with the CBI. Am willing to prove my innocence in the case in the court," he said.
