I have connected cable STB to 25" CRT.....So I prefer 16:9 LB....then STB sets proper AR.....

Yes 16:9 for CRT TV then we will get all needed picture this is my point also.

But these broadcasters are not doing this infact operators also putting blackbars.

But I wants to know why any kind of settings required ?

Does putting blackbar gives us full picture in CRT TV ? If 16:9 covers more pixel then why loose necessary picture ? Probably in Top and Side but how much ?

CRT is 4:3.....So I think in order to fit 16:9 or HD channel properly we will have to use LB AR....
Otherwise pan & scan is there which may look stretched....
