In recent weeks, reports have emerged about the Essel Group offering contracts to top Australian cricketers like David Warner. Now in a bid to protect its turf, Cricket Australia is looking at doing two-year contracts with their players. Their contracts expire on 30 June 2015. A report in ‘Sydney Morning Herald’ stated that among those offered two-year deals by Cricket Australia was Warner, who in the past week had given an insight into his view of Essel’s ambitions. He admitted that it would be tempting if the Essel Group were forthcoming with plans hatched earlier this year to poach him and others with $50 million contracts.
