They need more space for new channels, if they didnt add many channels how can be No1 in count ? Bhaad me jane do quality . Actually i am telling this according to users feed back in forums as i didnt saw the present quality. it may be crystal clear but ...

Its good but can't call it crystal clear. All depend upon the setup. According to my personal experience earlier when i was having D2H HD Zapper Box, i was not satisfied with the Picture Quality of HD as well as SD channels but when i upgraded to DVR, forum friends suggested me to for d2h technician attain maximum Quality Signal Strength.

And from that time I am enjoying a very good quality of channel viewing. And as you rightly said, people are concerned about Quantity of channels than the Quality. So, d2h is also trying to apply compression once again to make space of more channels.

Yes Sir, that's the reason DTH are still not in competitive mode.

South India is quite techy and using DTH extensively since a long time whereas other parts still feel to save money and look for the lowest rental packages.

As per MPA report , 70 to 75% of customers in all DTH are on lowest rental pack. So, all operators are concentrating on these packages and adding a combination of useless as well as useful channels to compensate the package pricing.

And concentrating less on the remaining 25% because majority is considered everywhere
