Distribution platforms like multi-system operators (MSOs), direct-to-home (DTH) and headend-in-the-sky (HITS) operators have seeded 8,20,442 set-top boxes (STBs) in digital addressable system (DAS) Phase III areas of West Bengal, as per data provided by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB). This implies that 77.73% of the 1.05 million TV households (as per 2011 census) in the state covered under DAS Phase III have been digitised. The 1.05 million TV households are spread across 15 districts.
