DD collaborates with Epic Channel for simulcast of new shows

National broadcaster Doordarshan has entered into a collaboration with 'Epic Channel' for sourcing high-quality software for simulcast of new TV shows.

This information was revealed in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore in a written reply to a question.

"Prasar Bharati has informed that Doordarshan has currently entered into collaboration with Epic Channel for sourcing high-quality software for simulcast of news shows or programmes," Rathore said.

Don't know why DD collaborates for certain programs that too with competitor channels....
May be this way, these channels would make more money by simulcasting programs......
But it seems DD is being asked for simulcasting only certain types of programs.

I think its a cost recovering tactics from EPIC, through simulcast they can earn some extra bucks from certain shows.

I don't think simulcast will benefit DD in any way.When Satyamev jayate and Saraswatichandra were simulcast on DD1 with Star plus , people kept watching them on Star Plus itself.

Well in some platforms EPIC is not available so if users wants to try those shows switch off DD.

Anyway its highly surprising to see DD collaborating with pvt channels just to benefit them......
