After revamping DD National and DD News, public broadcaster Doordarshan is now looking to work on its programming line-up, by including shows from big production houses. In 2015, DD aims to showcase a line-up of new shows and is presently in the process of selecting concepts with production houses like Balaji Telefilms, Hats Off Productions, Sphere Origins and more. Facing stiff competition from private television channels, DD felt the need to broadcast quality programmes which it will announce around March. Speaking to TelevisionPost.com, Doordarshan channel advisor Tanuja Shankar said, “We are in the process of selecting new shows and are talking to production houses. As we move towards a change, big producers need to turn themselves towards DD.”
