The process of sanctioning programmes for the channels of Doordarshan can be a long process where shows are selected through the pubcaster’s ‘self-financing commissioning category’ (SFCC). However, the producers working on shows for DD Kashir and DD Urdu have raised questions on the delay in sanctioning of programmes for the channels. Several producers have got together and presented a memorandum to Prasar Bharati officials in which they raised questions about delay in sanctioning programmes for the channel. The producers have reportedly said that even when there is a requirement of programmes for these channels, Doordarshan has been finding an excuse to not give out the sanctions.
